As our Senior Policy Advisor, you will directly support The Nature Conservancy in Oregon by planning, implementing and coordinating policy development and legislative strategies for state, tribal and local governments to further our mission. Duties also include, building key relationships and coalition building. This role will be instrumental in fostering the Conservancy’s commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity by advancing these dimensions during advocacy and policy work in Oregon.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in political science, environmental policy, management or other relevant field and 5 years of government relations or corporate sector experience, or equivalent combination education/experience. • Fluency in English. • Analytical and project management experience. Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and implementing complex projects in an unstructured environment. • Experience developing, directing and managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals.
• Proven communication and presentation skills.
• Proven negotiation skills.
Some desired qualifications:
• Experience in strategy development and execution that results in on-the-ground outcomes.
• Knowledge in topics such as water quality and quantity, transportation, climate change and/or other natural resource topics.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Skills in coalition building and partner relations. Ability to advocate and represent complex ideas in ways that connect with non-technical experts.
• Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural experience appreciated.
• Experience working with Pacific Northwest Tribal governments.
• Familiarity with social, economic and political conditions and issues in Oregon and/or the Pacific Northwest.
